Dear friends and readers,

Real-time counter
We are collecting online signatures for a campaign appealing to the sponsors of Willing Willie to withdraw sponsorship from the show.

This is not just about the case of the 6-year-old Jan-jan, who was allowed to do a lewd dance on public television; this is about a man who regularly treats the poor, the young, and practically anybody on his show with disrespect. The way he treats his female co-hosts is revolting. And people see his example every day.

Perhaps you do not watch his show, but we live in a society where others do watch him and are, in effect, having their values degenerated by the example of this man whom they apparently admire.

If you would like to join me in asking the sponsors of his show to stop giving this man the means to reach and influence so many, please sign the petition you will find on this link:http://www.petitiononline.com/nowillie/petition.html

Fellow bloggers, if you are one with this cause, may I also ask for your help. Would you post this on your blog? For those of you who have already posted on your blogs, like msbolin, thank you so much!

Yours sincerely,

Blessie

UPDATE (April 11, 2011): Last week, Willie Revillame declared his temporary vacation from Willing Willie, as sponsors of his show have begun withdrawing. (In his speech, he also asked critics such as Jim Paredes and Lea Salonga what they have done for the Filipino people. Shall we send you a list, Willie?)

However, we continue collecting signatures because this man has a habit of coming back. When he does, this time, we shall be ready for him.
