Word-Filled Wednesdays: Encouraging Bible Verses for Homeschoolers

This post is the third of 7 posts that I’ll be writing this week, as my response to Jen @ Conversion Diary’s 2nd Epic Blogging Challenge. To God be all the glory! :)

I know I’m not the only homeschool parent who needs encouragement from time to time. Homeschooling is tough. Being a parent is tough. Trying to disciple children while wrestling with our own selfishness and sinfulness is tough. Let us then take hope and courage in God’s Word, which is always, always true. Here are some of my favorite Bible verses, which have helped me a lot as a person and as a homeschool mom.

7 {Homeschooling} Posts-Post3

For when you need encouragement to teach your child

Train the young in the way they should go;

even when old, they will not swerve from it.

— Proverbs 22:6

For when you doubt God’s plan for you and your family, including homeschooling

For I know well the plans I have in mind for you… plans for your welfare and not for woe,

so as to give you a future of hope.

— Jeremiah 29:11

For when you feel tired

“I have the strength for everything through him who empowers me.”

— Philippians 4:13

For when you feel like giving up

Let us not grow tired of doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest, if we do not give up.

— Galatians 6:9

For when you need God’s providence, especially if you’re living on a single income as homeschoolers

So do not worry and say, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear?

All these things the pagans seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.

But seek first the kingdom (of God) and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides.

— Matthew 6: 31-33 (Our family’s ‘life verses’!)

May God’s Word give us what we need to continue teaching and training our children — remember, even when we are no longer called to homeschool, we are still forever called to raise our children for eternal life!
